Road Trip: Tagaytay and Lake Taal: May 2015

 Hey everyone!

Sorry it has taken so long to get to my next blog! We are currently in Singapore just exploring and relaxing with Eyen's brother Kuya Dylan, his girlfriend Ate Nicole, and of course Lola Yna!

I'm definitely behind on the blog. We have already explored Singapore as well as Thailand! Hopefully I can catch up this week before we head to Malaysia!

For this post, we will be continuing where we left off in the Philippines! Eyen, her childhood friend Joe, Lola Yna, and myself took a trip to Tagaytay (ta-guy-tie) and Lake Taal (ta-all). This is where an active volcano is located!

Group selfie before the road trip!

Of course, we had to stop for breakfast on the way!
Tapsilog. (top-si-log). This is tapa and itlog. Tapa is beef and itlog is egg. This is a traditional Filipino breakfast.
This is called tuyo with keso puti (white cheese). It is a dried, flaky fish.
This is grilled honey barbeque chicken.
This is my Favorite Filipino breakfast! It's called tocilog. It's marinated pork with egg. It's so delicious!
Eyen tried to catch us sleeping in the backseat. HAHA
 Look at all the FISH!
We stopped by Coni's (a famous Filipino bakery) to grab a snack on our way. Lola was posing with Joe's mocha shake.

I'm giving Joe bunny ears outside of the window. haha

 Some selfies with Lola Yna.

Once we arrived in Tagaytay, it was raining, so we we hid in a Starbucks until the rain passed.
 Eyen is a jokester.

Once it stopped raining, we were able to step outside and snap some pics!

 Selfies!

In this photo, you can see the volcano! It's the smaller looking mountain at the bottom.

 Beautiful scenery!

Here is a better view of the volcano!
You can actually take a boat across the lake to the volcano and ride a horse up to the top of the volcano! Unfortunately, we weren't able to do it this day!

 Selfies!

 More views and more selfies.

We were going to eat here in this villa, but sadly it was closed. It had an AWESOME view of the mountain and volcano!

Dinner selfies! We had dinner at a restaurant named "Josephine's".

Joe helping Lola Yna with her Buko. Lola loves her fresh coconut Buko!

This is bulalo. Tagaytay is known for this. Wikipedia describes it as "Bulalo is a beef dish from the Philippines. It is a light colored soup that is made by cooking beef shanks and marrow bones until the collagen and fat has melted into the clear broth." Sounds strange, but it's REALLY GOOD!

We had a lot of fun at dinner!

We decided to take more photos at sunset. It was very beautiful! I'm glad the rain stopped long enough for us to take some photos!

 Selfies! Lots of selfies!

 Pretty!

My favorite photos of us. We had a great time!

The tree was pretty, so I told Lola to take some photos with it. She also taught me a new Tagalog word: Ibon which means bird!

I'm glad we were able to make a trip here. This is one place we didn't go the last time we visited the Philippines, so I'm really glad Joe was able to bring us.

Next time, maybe we can climb the volcano!

Up next will be our random Manila adventures followed by Puerto Princesa, Cebu, and Boracay!

Stay tuned!
